"Filmmaker": What does it mean?

Well, it means that I can:

• Take a concept from a conversation to a completed screenplay

• Take a complex, broken down, 90-page script and - through logistics and "movie magic" - compose a thoughtful schedule and a budget to match

  • For feature films, this can be 15-25 days and range from $25-150,000

• Hire crew and cast; arranging auditions, location scouts, photo shoots and wardrobe fittings along the way

• Execute contracts for investors, locations, cast, crew, rentals and insurance

• Rehearse with actors and extras, giving feedback and helping them get in touch with the character they are playing

• Envision a set and build it from scratch in a blank space (Yes, power tools involved!)

• Maintain an accounting of expenses and payroll during a production

• Coordinate the storage and backing-up of digital files from the camera

• Edit footage into sequences and stories; syncing audio files with video, adjusting color and audio levels, adding music, titles, graphics and transitions

• Export video files for various purposes - broadcast, cinema screens, social media or websites
